Christmas 2013

Friends of Haiti:

About this time 19 years ago our home was filled with anticipation as Steve made plans for his first trip to Haiti right after Christmas. This would come after years of prayer, contacting other ministries, helping international ministries and having foreign missionaries stay in our home. It wasn’t a prayer we offered, but a prayer offered by a small prayer group and answered 72 hours later when the person organizing a medical team to Haiti asked Steve if he would be able to go.

None of us will ever forget the sermon our pastor preached the Sunday before he left; the topic was “Holy Ground.” The central theme was that when you reach the spot in life that you know you ‘re where God wants you to be, it can be considered Holy Ground. Over the years, Steve has been asked several times when he knew he was supposed to be working in Haiti. He has always answered, “As soon as my feet touched the ground”.

Well before we knew of the poverty, other than what we had read, before we knew of the lack of educational opportunities, lack of health care, nutrition and certainly the lack of Godly teaching, Steve knew and the rest of us knew after joining him there the next year that God wanted us to be there and do what we could to help.

Over the past nineteen years we have continued to think of Haiti as Holy Ground, as have some of you who have been with us from the very beginning, and the rest since shortly after. Although we are a small ministry, all of us have made a difference and that is all we have ever wanted to do: show the Haitian people the love God has shown to us.

Christmas is a very special time for us, for what it represents to Christianity and also because it represents answered prayer.

From our home to yours, we pray your Christmas will be filled with answered prayer and blessings.

Serving HIM together,

Steve and Terry

Thanksgiving 2013

Over the course of the year we have shared pictures of some of the people who are so helpful in the Ministry in Haiti. By doing that, we hope we have put a “face” on the ministry, although some of you already know them.

Each of those you’ve seen pictured represent a different place and part of the ministry that you support in some way. Each has a family that they in turn support because of you and naturally the little girl represents those who receive a meal because you give for those programs.

To a person, none of them expect or want a hand out, all they want is an opportunity to work and provide for their families. You are providing them that opportunity and they are very thankful, as are we, that you care and give as you do to provide the essentials for the schools, vitamins, churches, feeding programs and medical needs.

Terry and I pray all of you will be blessed this Thanksgiving for the sacrifice you make to help our friends in Haiti.

Serving HIM together,

Steve and Terry
